Mitsubishi Double Shotz concept car was designed for the Hot Wheels Designer Challenge. Mitsubishi Double Shotz concept car was created by Gary Ragle of Mitsubishi Motors Research and Design of America (MRDA). Between six manufacturers, Mitsubishi was participate on displaying the concept vehicles designed exclusively for the iconic toy car maker.




Mitsubishi Double Shotz concept car represent the ultimate Mitsubishi vehicle and the spirit of the brand’s future. The Mitsubishi Double Shotz concept car celebrates the 4G63 engine (by using two of them) and the Lancer Evolution.


“The design takes the concept of the Lancer Evolution to the next level and ties it in with the enjoyment and imagination of the Hot Wheels brand,” said Ragle.

NISSAN ANNOUNCES PRICING ON 2010 ARMADA AND 2009 MURANO 360New Titanium and Platinum Editions Offer Substantial Savings Over Previous Year Models; 2009 Nissan Murano Crossover SUV With New “360° Value Package” Also Goes On Sale.


Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) today announced pricing for the new 2010 Nissan Armada full-size SUV, which goes on sale in mid-May at Nissan retailers nationwide. The enhancements to the Armada for the new model year include a revised model lineup, which now features three well-equipped models: the Armada SE and two special editions, the Armada Titanium Edition and Armada Platinum Edition.


Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices* (MSRP) start at $37,210 for the 2010 Armada 4×2 SE and $42,810 for the Armada 4×4 SE.


The new Armada Titanium Edition includes a full array of standard comfort and convenience features, including Nissan Intelligent Key™, leather-appointed seating, RearView Monitor, Bluetooth® Hands-Free Phone System, premium Bose® audio system with 11 speakers, power-folding 60/40-split 3rd row seat and auto-leveling rear air suspension. The 2010 Armada Titanium Edition has an MSRP of $42,140 for the 4×2 model and $44,940 for the 4×4 – representing savings of more than $2,500 over that of a similarly equipped 2009 Armada LE or SE models.


The new 2010 Armada Platinum Edition is priced at $49,390 and $52,190 for the 4×2 and 4×4 models respectively. The Armada Platinum Edition includes all of the Armada Titanium Edition equipment, plus heated front seats and steering wheel, power rear liftgate, moonroof, DVD Family Entertainment System and a Nissan Navigation system with XM NavTraffic™ system with real-time traffic information (XM® subscription required, sold separately) and a 9.3GB Music Box Hard Drive. The Platinum edition MSRP represents a saving of more than $1,100 compared to 2009 Armada models with similar content (2009 Armada LE with optional equipment and packages).

Nissan’s super cool NV200 is a small commercial work van and mobile IT media hub whose pull-out tool shed is a showcase in creative space rendering. It was inspired by a professional diver, marine biologist and underwater photographer named Alex Mustard. The van is meant to double as a mobile office and research center and was made to store underwater diving paraphernalia as well as computer and mobile communications equipment, but could conceivably accommodate any endeavor from construction work to motor sports. The sliding cargo pod extends from the back of the van to reveal a workspace and living quarters. Inside, a computer table drops down from the side of the van, revealing two LCD screens. The front passenger seat swivels back on a curved rail to face the table. The end of the pod forms a bulkhead that houses a small refrigerator, sink, first aid kit and space to hang clothes. Water tanks supply a shower, which is fitted on the outside of the pod. A small generator charged by solar panels on the roof powers the electric equipment. The vehicle itself is powered by a “clean” diesel engine. If conditions don’t permit sleeping under the stars, a two-man tent accessible from outside is housed behind the driver’s door.

Firestone TVS plant inaugurated near Madurai
Firestone TVS Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture between the US-based Firestone Industrial Products Company (FIPC) and India’s Sundaram Industries (of the TVS Group), recently kicked off its Greenfield project at Vellarippatti, near Madurai. The Firestone TVS plant, where air springs will be made for automotive OEMs, the aftermarket and also for the Indian Railways, was inaugurated last week by Mike Cerio, President, FIPC.

FIPC has about eight decades of experience in the manufacture of air-springs and air-suspension systems. Its JV with Sundaram Industries will enable the latter to make high-tech air-springs for Indian automotive OEMs. The company’s plant near Madurai will include testing and evaluation facilities and an R&D centre.

Firestone TVS Pvt. Ltd. plans to increase capacity to 500,000 air-springs per annum, within the next five years. The company also intends to import different types of air-springs from FIPC, for industrial use. These will be distributed in India through the Firestone TVS sales and service network.

In the meanwhile, the company has released a picture of the new Aston Martin One-77, a 7.0-litre V12-powered supercar that will be built in limited numbers.

Since a few years Citroën is trying to regain the innovative and creative image the company had before it was absorbed by the Peugeot concern. As a result a number of concept cars has emerged from the design studios, showing what they're capable of. This Pluriel model study follows the C3 and C6 Lignage concepts and is Citroën's vision on a versatile compact car. It was introduced at the 1999 Frankfurt Motor Show and features a modular body style.
The car is in essence a convertible coupe with a folding roof (not unlike that of the old 2CV) which slides back into the false floor of the boot, leaving only the side arches erect. These arches can be removed to make the car into a full convertible, like is shown on the pictures. Also the car can be converted into a 2-seater "spider pick up" by folding the rear seats down into the floor and opening the boot hatch and fixing it in horizontal position to enlarge the load floor.

Most modern cars run by burning gasoline in an internal combustion engine. Recently there has been an increasing concern with the amount of pollution produced by engines of this type. Mechanical engineers have been responsible for making these engines more efficient in recent years, and in reducing emissions, but there is an increasing public desire to eliminate polluting emissions entirely. This is most clearly demonstrated by California's law requiring a certain percentage of the cars sold in California to be "zero-emissions cars" by the year 2000.

The Westminster was replaced about 1964 by a Ford Zephyr Mk 3. For police use Ford fitted the slightly larger Zodiac engine into the Zephyr 6 body shell. Although the Westminster had been a sedate old girl with reasonable handling, the Zephyr knocked spots off it, in my view, in terms of speed and handling. I would go so far as to say that this was my favourite patrol car throughout my service. It was utterly reliable and was a delight to drive. It had a good heater, too, compared to the Westminster, in which, in winter, we had to wear short overcoats known as ‘British Warms’, because the heater was none too efficient. The photograph (below) of the Mark 3 Zephyr is identical in every way to the patrol car I drove.
